Abandoned School House…In the Woods

And I actually drew the woods (well, some of them) this time.

I could not figure out what was on the right side of the school, so I skipped it, and I pretty much just did what I wanted with the trees instead of following the picture, although the placement is somewhat close. Of course, that meant that stylistically, the trees and building do not match, but it’s OK.

The building’s proportions are better, with the exception of door/window placement. It helped that it is photographed pretty much straight on. The trees, although the style does not match, do give the image I drew some depth, and I do like how that aspect turned out.

Today I used charcoal pencils instead of regular art pencils.

  1. turns out it’s pretty hard to comment on drawing / sketches blogs.
I am no artist myself, far from it, which makes it all the harder for me to leave any meaningful comments. I will try though.
If I were to draw a sketch of the above picture, I would fail miserably, like totally flat on my face with no right to hold a pencil for drawing purposes in years to come whatsoever.
Which is to say, you did good! Pretty good!
I truly enjoy the way you share your progress with your followers. For me it’s always fascinating to see how people progress at what they do.
    Keep them sketches coming 🙂

    1. Thank you very much! It does not bother me when people do not comment – heck it hardly bothers me to see more views than likes or if something is not liked at all. It really is about personal progress. I blog these sketches to hold myself accountable and to keep going/not give up.

  2. You really make it seem really easy along with your presentation however I in finding this matter to be really one thing that I believe I might never understand. It seems too complicated and very wide for me. I’m having a look forward to your next post, I will attempt to get the grasp of it!
