This is the other typical logo for Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, although I have no idea why or what it is. I really wanted to do well on it, and I came pretty close. It required slowing down – which was really hard but totally necessary since I got into it with a flat-earther on Facebook right before sketching. I’ve never blocked anyone before, but I knew if I didn’t I would keep getting sucked in to their willfully ignorant comments.
As such, some laziness does show. A couple (OK about half) of my colored pencils weren’t sharp enough, and at one point I forgot to clean my burnishing tool between colors. Both of those left some color artifacts.
Taking my time did help me nerves, though. I am much more calm, and according to my Fitbit, my heartrate has gone down. (Not that it was up that much, just heightened a little more than it should be for sitting on the couch.)
The hands are not even, but they’ll do. I am pleased with my burnishing (overall, anyway), and my pre-pencil marks. They are almost invisible! I sketched it out, then erased most of it, leaving just enough to follow with my colored pencil. If that is already a legitimate technique, cool – but it just occurred to me to try it out.
My shades of green are a bit questionable, and I did some layering – with moderate success – to counter it.
In any case, it is a HUGE step up from yesterday (and two days ago), so I’ll take it.
