Stave I – Marley’s Ghost (& he Actually Makes an Appearance)

There’s more writing on this one than drawing, but oh well!

Although I used a couple of images for inspiration, this is mainly my own design, and I’m terrible at drawing chains! (But thank you Halloween week for the practice in tombstones!)

“I wear the chain I forged in life. I wear it link my link and yard by yard; I girded it of my own free will, and of my own free will I wore it.”

“But you were always a good man of business!”

“Business! Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business: charity, mercy, forbearance, and benevolence were my business. The dealings of my trade were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business.”
